I like to take ID 33 from Ashton Idaho to Jackson, though if you have four wheel drive and a lot of time the Grassy Lake Road from Flagg Ranch to Ashton is also quite delightful. Cave Falls in Yellostone's Bechler region is worth seeing and only 20 miles or so from Ashton Idaho. The Mesa Falls Scenic ByWay has not only stellar waterfalls, but also a sweet little museum. Last summer I saw a large black bear at the upper falls turn off. Other fun sites on the west side of Yellowstone are the towns of Ennis and Virgina City. Both Cave Falls and the lower Mesa Falls can be seen from the parking lot or with very little walking.
