This is exactly where bear #399 and her three new cubs hang out. I would be extra-super-duper cautious around there for now.
Other than that, it's one of my favorite hikes!
Or you can go the 4 flat nice miles from Colter Bay to Jackson Lake Lodge (or vice-versa) and take the shuttle bus back to your vehicle. Still 399 country, though.
