Yay, trip reports :-)
Good to hear there's a moose at Heron Pond - I haven't seen one there in forever, probably because there is often so little water in the pond, this must been it's wet this spring.
Sometimes the antlers on a moose are so small at this time of year (photo taken on June 3 a few years ago at Silver Gate) they're hard to see - or of course it could be a cow, maybe with a young calf hidden in the brush :-)
Speaking of cows, at calving season, female elk hang together in sometimes rather large herds, and the bulls go off in small bachelor groups to fatten up so they can grow magnificent racks to impress the ladies come fall.
