Nice work John. Interesting how the newborns know enough to travel down stream from mom (in her eddy currents) where it's a bit easier to swim.
One spring, I witnessed a mother bison go after two newborns swept downstream in the Lamar. She escorted them back to the original side and then lead the two back upstream on dry land to try again. The second and third attempts also failed but the mom kept trying. On the fourth attempt the trio made it safely.
