Note that the Alum Fire, which is currently burning west of the Mud Volcano/Fishing Bridge area, may require closure of the road between Canyon & Fishing Bridge. The fire's at 3K acres now, and they have submitted a request for resources to manage the fire, but it is moving in an easterly direction and will begin to threaten the Mud Volcano area in the next couple of days.

The image below shows the fire's point of origin relative to Mud Volcano. The fire's western flank is now more than a half mile east of that point. Mud Volcano is the purple area with the orange dots around it to the east/northeast.
