Doug Dance also dabbled a little in sound recording, his CD (copied for a few friends but never widely distributed) is similarly fascinating. There's a golden idea there that I hope the Park Service and others will pursue.
Also, if you haven't heard this (requires Apple Quicktime) from the Tetons, played in a continuous loop in the Soundscape Room at the Laurance Rockefeller Preserve along Moose-Wilson Road, it's truly amazing. On my computer I have to wait a few seconds for it to start; once it does you can listen over and over again.
