of calves that have died from the neighboring ranchers, or donations from the butchers in town. So they do get to gnaw on bones as well. They don't get to exercise their hunting instincts often, but there is a pair of magpies that nests in a tree overlooking their compound and every spring they manage to "take down" one or more of the fatally clueless fledglings that fly down to the ground inside the fence. Oh well, there are plenty more magpies where those came from.

It's always nice to see wild animals that have it good in their sanctuary circumstances like these guys do.
