There's a "crop factor" involved with different sized sensors.
Look at the 4 photos at the link. See how each on is zoomed in a little tighter than the previous?
This is what you want, right?? Zoomed in a little more that what you were getting from your Oly and the 300mm.
Now here's the bad news.
See that last image that is zoomed in the most?
That's with a camera with a 1.6 crop factor.
Your Oly has a 2.0 crop factor, which would be zoomed in even tighter.
So, if you switch to a camera that has a 1.5 or 1.5 crop factor, you will need a lens in the 500mm to 600mm just to equal the reach you were getting with the Oly.
My advice: If you like your 300mm lens, then buy a new Oly.
