This is the trail around Phelps Lake, which you pick up at the Laurance Rockefeller Preserve, on the Moose-Wilson Road heading south from the Moose Visitor Center. It's about 6-7 miles but easy and varied and beautiful. Although it's popular, it's not really too busy and we take bear spray as there are both black bears and grizzlies (and a lot of other wildlife including moose and deer) in the area.
