Mammoth Hotel closing for two winter seasons

I wanted to post this news for all of you winter-in-Yellowstone folks.

It's now official - the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel will not be open for the winter season in 2016-2017 and again during the 2017-2018 winter season. Construction and remodeling will occur in two phases during these winter seasons. The hotel WILL be open during the 2016 and 2017 summer seasons.

The old Haynes Photo Shop is currently being remodeled into administrative offices for Xanterra, so those functions (including the central reservations staff) will move out of the hotel building in the fall of 2016.
