Thanks again, this is much more helpful than the guidebooks :). Thankfully we are are used to packing (and hiking) with lots of layers. The White Mtns, where we usually hike, are notorious for drastic weather changes. I think we'll leave the snow shoes and micro-spikes at home, but I wouldn't have thought to pack hat and gloves, so thanks again!

We don't mind "bad" weather, because it usually means fewer human animals. However, exploring in bear country will be a new experience for us.
