There is one possible adjustment to your itinerary I would recommend.
Consider trying to do the 15 minute dash from Norris to Canyon on Thursday if time allows. This time of year, your options at Canyon are limited, unless you plan to park at the Chittenden Bridge and walk down to the north end of Hayden Valley. You can see the falls and get some photos fairly quickly. If you could squeeze that in on Thursday, it would spare you the windshield time on Friday, and give you more time to cruise the north end, do critter viewing, and get a hike or two in.
It looks like you are going to be blessed by excellent weather, so whichever strategy you use, you should have a great time.
