You don't mention if you are outdoorsy folks. I couple of items to consider;

- Order a copy of Day Hikes in Yellowstone and Day Hikes in Grand Teton, then select for you level of interest. The NPS web site also has day hike descriptions, copy and past link below.

- In Yellowstone, reserve a spot on one of the historic Yellow Bus tours run by Xanterra. They offer many activities.

- Attend one or more of the Ranger led programs at both parks; they are listed in the seasonal park newspapers.

These are just a starting point; your families interest will point the way.
