Smoke, heat, haze, and retreated wildlife are my primary reasons for not visiting much at this time of year. I tend to stay around the Northern Range where crowds are never as bad as Canyon, OF, or Mammoth. But I gather you're home now and may or may not recognize that bizarre blue stuff overhead? I didn't know what it was at first. Nice to see clear sky after a very long haul of hot, washed out gray, as you say. Maybe whatever helped clear out Gallatin Valley will make its way to Lamar Valley where I'm heading in a couple of days.

In June there be bears and bison aplenty there, but very little else showed itself. Sorry to hear they've not come out of the woods again yet. Maybe viewing will improve if it stays cooler.
