Hello All. My family will be taking my mother-in-law to visit
Yellowstone for her 80th Birthday. It has been a while since I
visited this forum and I must say that you all have me very
concerned about how the crowding will impact our visit. My
mother-in-law has never been to the Park and I want this trip
to be memorable to her despite some limited mobility on her
part. We will focus on the typical roadside areas,
particularly the geyser areas, Lake Hotel, the Falls, the
Terraces, and many quieter places in-between. My wife and I
have been to Yellowstone with our children perhaps 10 or 12
times, so we are basically familiar, but I do have a few
questions for you:

1. What do I need to know about closures in the area of
the Falls of the Yellowstone?

2. We will be camping at Madison next Friday, Saturday,
and Sunday nights. My wife would like to enter the park via
the North Entrance (we are coming from Missoula) because she
thinks her mother would really like to go in through the
Roosevelt Arch. I am certain we want to visit the terraces
while we are there. My question is, is there any place where I
can park and disconnect our RV so that we can drive the Upper
Terrace Loop Drive?

3. What portions of the Terraces are currently most
active?

Thank you all so much for your help.

Family Man
