That is VERY impressive, how the broken end of that almost full curl appears to cradle the eye.

My experience photographing bighorn rams up fairly close or with really big lenses, like my old Nikkor 500mm f/4EDIF, extends back to my days in Rocky Mountain National Park in the 1980s, but I never saw any photo opp like what you nailed. And I spent time partnering with a professional wildlife photog in Colorado!

I suspect this was a once in a lifetime opportunity, and I'm glad you made the best of it.

I hope you get the opportunity to show this to Tom Murphy some day.
