Was closing White Creek warranted?
Would patrols and a greater emphasis on education have worked?
I don't think closures are the best response; they are certainly the easy way out though.
On the NPS website, it talks of preserving resources for future generations. How do I mark that on my calendar? Preserving means saving it so others will enjoy in the future. They have to reopen it for future generations to enjoy.
Having worked for the govt for 26 years now, I know how they do things. They make rules based on the lowest common denominator,ie, what would the dumbest tourist do.
We need a better answer from the NPS than more closures
