The kids left Canyon after Rob finished work around 10 p.m. and drove to the Lupine Meadows trailhead in GTNP. They debated about sleeping a bit in the car, but decided to just pack up and start hiking instead - it was about 2 a.m.

They reached the area below the boulder fields before sun-up and thought it best to stop and nap there rather than try to negotiate the boulders in semi-darkness. When they woke up about half an hour later, the sun was coming up.

Sunrise from Middle Teton...gotta admit, this would be an awesome spot to watch the sunrise!
