For those of you who have endured the years of stops, delays, bumps and mud during the reconstruction of US 287 between Dubois and Moran Junction, Wyoming I have great news - the paving was completed last month! Finishing work is still under way with some one-lane sections until that is completed. It looks like it will be clear sailing through the 38 miles of reconstructed highway next season.

To quote from the Togwotee Trail Blog:

"Everyone is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting celebration of the reconstructed U.S. 26-287 west of Dubois, The Togwotee Trail to Yellowstone.

Festivities are scheduled at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 16. The ribbon-cutting celebration will be held at the Togwotee Overlook, located at milepost 16.5, 16.5 miles east of Moran Junction and 49.5 miles west of Dubois.

The celebration will include an appearance by Roamin Wyomin , the Togwotee project s construction cowboy spokesperson, a color guard of Dubois Boy Scouts, entertainment by the Dubois School Band, and refreshments, and of course, cutting of the red ribbon on U.S. 26-287."
