You can look under settings and then go way down and it will tell you how much each app is using up. Also, I had some videos in iTunes that were using a lot of memory by backing up my iPad stuff to my iPhone.
I deleted some of my spreadsheet apps that were using too much space
Also, some emails are still held in the trash until you delete those or change your setting to get rid of them in whatever amount of time you input. I hope this helps! I have 64 and I use every last drop. :)
