Wow, that is a killer shot! It supports the old saying "f/8 and be there". Of course, Galen Rowell was quoted as saying "it's more like 'f/16 and be there'".

It's ironic that, at a time of year, when much of the color (flowers and other vegetation) and biotic diversity (hibernating and migrating critters gone) has vanished, the cyanobacteria and other thermophiles associated with Grand Prismatic provided what is probably the best color palette in Yellowstone.

The reflected images of the buffies is also striking. You are not going to get that in Hayden or Lamar Valleys, unless you get the serendipitous convergence of good light, proximity to a river, AND smooth water.

What a trophy shot!!
