Not what you were hoping for? Western tent caterpillars, and they were WIGGLING. EEWW. What ecological purpose to they serve??

We saw good sized moose tracks on a little area of beach and a GOOD SIZED giant solid black poop of unknown origin in the middle of the trail elsewhere.

Black bears frequent the area in the spring and later when the huckle- and other berries are ready to harvest. We didn't see any this day.
