All the campgrounds in the park were full when we arrived. That's what happens when you dilly-dally too much along the way! We stopped at Canyon to catch up with Steve and Rob, grab a shower and some ice cream and then headed to Rainbow Point NF campground on Hebgen Lake. Got there around 6 p.m. and even they were almost full. We snagged one of the last sites and settled in to cook some dinner.

Got up early the next morning, but not as early as we'd planned, and headed into the park to look for some critters. Spent some time along the Madison, near the eagle's nest. We spotted both adults and two juveniles perched across the river. We sat on the shore, enjoying the crisp early morning and waited for them to take flight.

Eventually, the aduls did, flying up and down the river a few times. Mort got a couple decent shots of this adult.
