On Tuesday morning Mort, Steve and I got up early and headed to the Pine Creek Lake TH. Pine Creek Lake is near Livingston. We stopped at a rest area along the way for breakfast.

The Pine Creek Lake trail is about 5 miles long (out and back). The first mile or so is relatively flat and takes you to Pine Creek Falls. This is far enough for many hikers cuz the next 4 miles take you up, up, UP!!! I thought I might stop at the falls. My hiking boots had given me a sore ankle on the Union Falls hike. Never had that issue before and I've had the same boots for about 5 years. So, I was wearing a pair of broken down Merrell low-top light hikers on this hike. But...when we got to the falls, it was still early, we had plenty of time and I really wanted to get to the lake, so UP we went!

After the falls, we didn't see any other hikers the rest of the way.

As I said, it was early morning in the forest. Not the best light for a photo of the falls, but here is one from my little camera.
