We started early because the plan was to set up camp and then hike on up to Avalanche Divide without full packs. So, we got set up, had a snack and then Mort and the kids packed smaller daypacks and continued on up to the divide. Since we've already established that I'm not so fond of climbing, I decided to stay at camp and enjoy the peace and quiet and the phenomenol views all around me. I even allowed the luxury of packing a book to read. Something I usually don't do because it just adds extra wt.

So these next photos are from Avalanche Divide. They were gone for a good 5-6 hours. When they came back, the kids said, "It's a good thing you decided not to do it. It was way farther than we remembered it being!". Phew...glad I had my quiet, relaxing afternoon instead :-)
