Yellowstone To Conduct Traffic Safety Checkpoints This Weekend

Yellowstone National Park rangers will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints in the park over the June 29-30 weekend.

Rangers will be looking for traffic violations, safety violations, and for impaired drivers.

Park staff members are committed to safety and safe driving in the park. With more than 300 miles of paved roads, Yellowstone s unique driving conditions can be extremely challenging due to high traffic volume, rapidly-changing weather conditions and visitors and wildlife on roadways.

Visitors are reminded that federal law requires the occupants of vehicles to wear seatbelts when driving on all park roads.

The checkpoints are being conducted with the assistance of the Gallatin County DUI Task Force and local law enforcement agencies.

For current road conditions in the park, call: 307-344-2117.
