We were going to be out in Lamar Valley at 7, but issue with the video camera battery, it died. I had a second one that I had charged at home, still on the charger, but NO where to be found. Went back to the room, looked through all my bags, camera bag, etc. NOTHING! Put camera away and pouted.

Since we missed being in Lamar early, we took our time driving, and took other pictures on the way. At the confluence we saw big horn sheep. Bison all over the place.

Went on to Cooke City, stopped in Silvergate and got 6 AA batteries and viola, my camera is working. Thank goodness it can use two types of batteries.

On the way back, at Pebble Creek a moose way laying down, but way too far to get pictures. Bison were all over again. I can't remember a time in seeing so many. Elk were pretty scarce.

At Soda Butte were several cars, pulled in, no wolf sighting, but howling was heard. Left and headed to Mammoth, had other places to photograph. Along the way, a couple of people were out with scopes, so asked them what was up. Well, again, missed the wolves, they had gone over the edge.

We raced up to, I think, Hellroaring Overlook, and there were five wolves headed toward the trees, across the river, then I spied 3 more further up an open space laying in the trail. So I finally got to see wolves today.

We encountered so many bison jams today, I lost count. People sure can get rude when they are behind you and want to go fast. Someone honked their horn!!

At Gardiner, a huge herd was crossing the road by the entrance station, and filled up the grassy area toward town. A coyote ran across, then another was by the fence, hobbling on three legs.

We went back for the sunset, which was awesome, with the full moon. Headed back to the motel for the night.

Oh, the bison hunt...the Umatilla Tribe took 6 bison, not sure what the other two tribes took, or if they stayed to hunt today or not.
