The Gardiner Cemetery can be found by driving through the Roosevelt Arch after exiting the park and then driving straight, instead of right which leads you into the town. You'll go by the school and the Heritage & Research Center. It's not too far on that gravel road and sits on a hill. I think they call it Tinker's Hill. It was started in 1880s, and John Yancy is buried there. Lee Whittlesey has Appendix 3 at end of his book "Death in Yellowstone" on the cemetery, along with Appendix 2 on the Fort Yellowstone Cemetery, which can be found by driving toward Mammoth Corrals from the large parking lot at east end of base of the Terraces and parking down at the Corrals. Or if the gate is closed, you can probably walk down from the parking lot. Twenty of the soldiers buried there were moved to the National Cemetery at Little Bighorn in 1917. Whittlesey's Appendix 1 describes "Mammoth Civilian Cemetery," which is located on summit north of village of Mammoth (I believe it's called Kite Hill.) Of the 14 graves there, the first was in 1883. I have not been up there.
