When the military left they took the soldiers to Little Bighorn "Custer National Cemetery," but left the dependents and civilians behind.
It is still an interesting place to visit with lots of history. You can follow a good part of the history of the park just by reading the list of burials in Appendix 2 of Whittlesey's "Death in Yellowstone."
Frank Welch, the first person confirmed to have been killed by a bear in the park, has a unique wooden grave marker.
I seem to remember that John organized a cleanup project there at an early Loonian.
