Home computer suffering from a major computer malware infection, can't start any programs or functions to try treat it ourselves, so as soon as my company's cyber security chief gets back to me with a recommendation for a local fixer, off it goes. I'm sitting at my office computer this afternoon, doing searches on "S.M.A.R.T. Repair" virus, looks like this will be a job for the pros.

Will post a small trip report installment from here today, but not likely I'll be able to resume for some time. I did back up all my trip photos onto an external hard drive, so assuming the trojan or whatever it is doesn't hide in image files, at least all those hours of work won't go down the drain. But this is a stern reminder as to why I don't wipe my memory cards until just before the next photographic expedition. If worse comes to worse comes to worse, I can still get to the originals.
