We had been hoping to see otters (we're ALWAYS hoping to see otters, but never have. I think it's the hope of seeing otters that keeps Kevin going back year after year!) and you would think there would be plenty, and osprey, and bears, given the abundance of first rate protein/fat, but we saw none of the above.

Others had seen otters at Trout Lake as early as late May, but they must have known we were coming and retreated to their dens for the duration.
