This one (same as in the prior photo) left its mound for a few minutes (badgers are so fun to watch with their furry waddling gait that nonetheless moves them right along) and came back shortly thereafter with a ground squirrel. There apparently weren't any kits, because nobody else came out of the hole when lunch arrived.
