Methinks I ought to PhotoShop out that lamp!
Anyway, the little sign on the mantle says:

Main Lodge Fireplace:
The fireplace in the Chico Hot Springs Main Lodge is made of soapstone mined in the Karelian Mountain Range of Eastern Finland. The heat retaining soapstone fireplace is engineered for maximum heat efficiency, utilizing a system of internal flues that direct fire and heat to every stone surface. This fireplace, through conscientious attention will produce comfortable heat while consuming an environmentally friendly amount of wood."

It's a wonderfully cozy place to visit in the winter (x-country skiing, dog-sledding, spa, soaks in the outdoor hot-spring-fed pool...) Love it in the summer, spring and fall, too!

If the word "Karelian" sounds familiar, that's where the bear dogs come from.
