Park in mid sept

We are seriously thinking of driving out to the Park mid Sept. like
be out there around the 17th for a few days. Not sure if the fires
would have any effect on the area by then and dont guess we will
know till later on. We don't plan to get reservations
anywhere...just going to wing it so we can do what we want when we
want(I hope). Plan to overnight in the SD Badlands the first night,
somewhere in Wy. the second night, and Yellowstone/Teton area the
next 3-4 nights. We've never gone this late in the year
before...clothes for layering would be good I guess. Anybody have
any thoughts about going this time of year, would appreciate
hearing from you. Thanks....and so excited. Hope it works out for
us to go!!!!!!!!!
