Tourists and valley residents traveling through Grand Teton National Park this winter won t have the option of dropping into a visitor center to warm up and study the maps.
..the building will have its doors shuttered likely before the snow flies.
"...It's purely was a business decision," said Vickie Mates, Teton park's chief of interpretation. "Because of the low visitation in the winter..."
Inside the bounds of the 310,000-acre park, Grand Teton officials will have no buildings other than bathrooms open to the public in the winter of 2013-14.
Grand Teton number crunchers figure they'll save "more than $100,000" by closing down the visitor center.
