Hi Rob,

We relocated from Chugiak/Peters Creek to the Anchorage side of Eagle River in May. It cut Jane's commute almost in half, and rid us of the "ski slope" driveway.

We were in Montana last week because Jane was attending a conference in Big Sky. It was an excuse to hang out and hug the children and grandchildren, hike with Loons, and cruise Yellowstone, until the federal grinches locked us out. (I devised an alternate itinerary for October 1, that included Big Springs, Mesa Falls, Sawtelle Peak, and lunch at Big Jud's in Ashton. My partner for the day, who is a fisherman, about went crazy at Big Springs.)

We lucked out this summer, and visited Kodiak Island and Naknek/King Salmon/Katmai in June/July. We also visited a real, still functioning gold mine up at Hatcher Pass. There looks to be a lot of good hiking up that way. I would like to explore the area off the Glenn Hwy, ENE of Palmer, beyond the Matanuska Glacier. It looks pretty exotic.

It's great that you finished your nurse practitioner program. I'll bet it feels real good! I am in the midst of several projects with the orthopedic surgery community in Anchorage, including the establishment of a state joint replacement registry.

It would be nice to get out walking before winter sets in. I'll e-mail you on the subject.
