It was our first trip to Yellowstone in 1993. We were camped at Bridge Bay in our tent trailer. We were at lunch at the OF Inn when it began to snow and the waiter told us 18 to 30 inches was the expecttion. So we got back over Craig Pass as fast as we could and Mr. ALR told me to just stay in the truck because he could take down that tent trailer faster without my help. No Kidding! And the ranger there was glad to see us go because they hate seeing poorly equipped people get snowed in. As we headed south we had no idea what we would find, but we did know we had stayed in the tent trailer for the last time on that particular trip. Flagg Ranch had a motel like building then and it was approaching dusk. We were glad to be tucked in there and they had a rustic dining hall. At 7AM the next morning a grizzeled old cowboy knocked on the door to clean the room! I do believe we were out of his way by 8AM. Flagg Ranch appears to have changed a lot since then, but it is just not convenient to either area I love.
