What is this world coming to?
Lately, we are bombarded with TV ads wanting us to "symbolically adopt" cats and dogs in animal shelters, elephants and tigers in Africa or India, sick children and starving children all over the world, and now YPF wants us to adopt a trout!
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
Since I live in close proximity to many rather large glaciers, and glaciers seem to be endangered, maybe I could start an "Adopt a Glacier" campaign. For a mere $1.99 a month, rubes (I mean "donors") would get a photo of their portion of a glacier (with their name embossed via food coloring) and a vial of "authentic glacier water". (We couldn't actually carve off a piece of the endangered glacier, since that would further hasten the glacier's demise.)
Depending on the success of this venture, I might broaden the product line upon my return to Montana. I'm thinking cowboys, Edsels, and common sense might all be candidates for "Adopt a ____________" campaigns.
