We come to Yellowstone almost every year. Next year we are planning a trip with friends who have never been there. They want to experience as much as they can in limited time of what the park offers (wildlife, thermal features, scenery, probably a couple of short hikes). One of them is going to want good photo opportunities. I'm trying to decide on the best week to come of two that work for them - June 8 - 12 OR June 15 - 19. We really can't come earlier than June 8 due to scheduling conflicts, but I want to maximize our odds of having nice weather AND seeing wildlife. I know well that there are no guarantees - I remember one year when we were snowed in at OF the second week of June. But if YOU had to pick for a couple who have never been there, which of those two dates would you choose?
