animals everywhere. A herd of buffalo has replaced the herd of elk at Mammoth. Elk and buffalo dotted the landscape constantly between Mammoth and Petrified Tree. One black bear grubbed before the Petrified Tree turn, and another shuffled along by Blacktail pond. A grizzly was mostly visible before the employee housing at lake, but like the majority of my bear sightings, he mostly showed his rear end. A little bear rear is better than no rear at all. Going back for more tomorrow!
