We were hiking during a very windy day and it suddenly sounded like a herd of elephants were crashing thru the forest. Then I noticed movement up above. A large tree ~6' diameter was falling in what seemed like slow motion. It crashed down across the trail about 20 yards ahead of us. Threw out a tremendous cloud of dust. Scared the life out of Jen who started running in the other direction and was hard to stop.
