A ways on, we made a "stretch and walk" stop at Bear Lake (or maybe it's Big Bear Lake--I know there's a Little Bear Lake, but I don't *think* there's a "Big" on this one). I tried to keep in mind that this was my girls' second trip to the Yellowstone area and Lissa's first-ever trip to "real" mountains (sorry, Smokies), and that just zipping across the landscape wouldn't give them the same feel for the place as actually getting out of the car once in a while. At least here the wind was much diminished, although still blowing stiffly at times.
