Frank,

How was that lower steep downhill section, shortly before you hit the flat near Rattlesnake Butte?

I have been in that squirrely area multiple times in May or October, when there was treacherous going on those icy/muddy/oh so slippery braided trails. The steep side of Mt. Everts keeps that area shaded most of the time, so you don't get much solar drying or warming.

Ironically, we had temps in the mid-40s around here yesterday, with lots of melting. It was raining in the morning, which is way strange for mid-February in this area.

It's good to see those rams. I've been anxious about the reports of disease sweeping through the bighorn population in the area.

Maybe it's time to try the Lava Creek trail. Just watch where you leave the trail to eat lunch or take an extended break.

Thanks for the report.
