Didn't even think of looking there. The deadfall got pretty crazy at about 3.75 miles. I tried to pick through it as best I could while keeping near the trail, but then it got so bad that you couldn't even make out where the trail was or where it went and I couldn't spot a trail blaze anywhere in the distance...at that point I called it a day and just extracted myself from the maze and returned to the car.
