We missed this one, but it seems to fall right into the pattern. On June 14 as we headed to our cabin at Lake we came upon a traffic backup in the Mud Volcano area. Figured it was bison, but as we got closer discovered that a large tour bus had somehow misjudged the turn out of the parking lot, and was off the road with it's back tires...the bottom of the bus resting on the edge of the road, and the front blocking the entire road. The Asian group on board did not looked pleased...the men were attempting to dig the tires out with small shovels, while the women were picking up large rocks across the way to jack up the rear (we think that's what they were trying). Meanwhile, the driver was walking around with a clipboard. We were able to get our car around, but larger vehicles were stuck, for who knows how long. The next day we were trying to get to the Upper Geyser Basin, and came upon a rental RV that managed to do something...they were near the turn into OF Inn, but somehow had gone off the road on the other side...did a turn pointing them away from the roads, and got hitched up with the bottom of the vehicle on a rock. The number of people crawling around on the ground looking underneath was astounding, especially since it appeared as though none of them had any idea what to do. There was a tow truck standing by. Unfortunately I did not listen to my husband, and took no pictures. Guess I had my mouth open too wide!

We've really enjoyed your report...we were pretty much in the same places observing similar things a couple days ahead of you. Believe me...the more you think back about your trip the more you will want to return. Yellowstone does that to you!
