Some days Norris staff reports one, sometimes two eruptions, some days none, but that only means they didn't see it themselves or get a visitor report. The noise is so distinctive I would believe any visitor who described it. A few of us did a day when we saw one at 1024, went to Vixen for a while, then came back and saw another at 1832, which sorta meshed with intervals I could remember from the 90's.

How. Ever. One day since I was there during "business hours" (when the desk by the museum is staffed), I told them I wanted to add that closed interval to their logbook and they had another one in between! When we returned to the area (we went to Vixen), it had obviously erupted and refilled, we had no clue we had missed one. We did note it drained lower after one eruption than the other, so that could influence the intervals.

I had another visit when we arrived and it was refilling, and we left after 4 hours without seeing it. So, the short answer is, no one knows, but I think if you came upon it full and overflowing and were willing to sit a few hours, you'd see it.

Good luck! Let me know if you are coming, we could post ourselves at Vixen and Whirligig, change places and swap times in the middle. :)
