I already raised one son who grew up so fast it seemed, so I knew it was coming again.
But, it still surprises me sometimes when I see Hayden sleeping and remember how he
once slept on my chest. Hayden really does love Yellowstone, so much so that I bought
a second spotting scope for him to use. Last year (2011 in June), before I went to bed
after a great day in the Lamar viewing Lamar Canyon wolves, I took some ibuprofen for
a backache. I had shared the scope with Hayden and was bent over for much of the
time. I decided that another scope might be a good idea. Here he is in the Lamar this
year viewing wolves. He is actually using my scope, he was letting his step-brother and
step-brother's girlfriend (came from St. Paul to meet us in Yellowstone) use his just to
his right. Hard to tell but also a Swarovski, bought at a bargain price from a Tucson
hunter who blew out his knee and could no longer hunt. we had a great time having
two scopes. After watching for awhile, Hayden would go looking for kids who wanted
to see the wolves through his scope.
