These fairly attractive yellow flowers are an invasive species. At certain times of the warm months, you can see teams of NPS employees and volunteers wearing white has/mat suits spraying these and other invasive species in the Greater Mammoth Area. Like many invasive plant species, this plant has a tendency to take over an area if not attacked vigorously. It is very persistent!

In some parts of the mountain west, this plant is known as butter 'n eggs. I know it has a couple other common names, but I'm not recalling them at the moment.
