Did you leave it intact, or cut it open? I found a copy of Cecil Alter's "James Bridger", the earlier version of his later "Jim Bridger", with several uncut pages. I found out why a bone knife is necessary to properly open pages...I made a terrible mess of the book, but then I wanted it for the research content, not it's pristine book value. I've been very glad Wahb has been reprinted.
Did you happen to catch a really good article on Seton in Montana Magazine of Western History, Spring 1984, Volume 34, pp. 46-59, by H. Allen Anderson, "Ernest Thompson Seton in Yellowstone Country"? Journal pages from the Philmont Scout Ranch, Cimarron, NM, and illustrations and photos from family members.
