Nice to see images of what I missed and also to know that others had similar struggles getting there so I can feel like less the wimp for doing a 180 and retreating. I can completely relate to the shot of people ducking under deadfall after my adventure earlier this week (which, I've recovered from and am ready for the next one...)
All my future Turbid trips will definitely be accomplished from the west! I saw enough on the trek in from the east to satisfy my curiosity of the old entrance road and also to get a visual on the landscape up the Jones Creek trail enough to know my future trek to Jones Pass is best accomplished by hiking to the top of Avalanche and then ridge-running back to the pass.
